The public beta versions of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, and more were released this week. If you are like me, you are not installing beta software on devices that you depend on to get work done. Nevertheless, this widespread release is an opportunity to reflect upon the new features that are coming to all of us this Fall, and so that is how we start this week’s episode of the In the News podcast. Next, we address Apple’s new warranty program—AppleCare One—and discuss whether you need a warranty program at all and, if you do, whether this new program is right for you.
