I can't wait for Google Shepardize.

Any rumors of West or Lexis coming out with iPhone apps?

[Jeff responds: Not that I have heard. This past Spring when West came out with Black's Law Dictionary I wondered whether they would branch out, but nothing yet. West redirects iPhone traffic to wireless.west.com, but I'm not sure how much better that really is.]

Thank you for the kind mention of my blog article. I'm glad to see other legal bloggers feel as excited about Google Scholar as I am!

Great post.

[Jeff responds: Brian, thanks for discussing it on the Young Lawyers Blog!]

I too love Google Scholar for quick case searches! I have a question about the pagination indicators - has anyone found a way to get the page breaks marked where they occur in the line? Only matters for pin cites to stuff that lands at the absolute top or bottom of a (printed) page, but sure would be nice to have!

David, I have found a way to get inline pagination indicators. I wrote an extension for Google Chrome that adds inline star pagination. There's also a user style sheet that should work with any browser. http://links.lawstoreapp.com/stars

FTC Notice

  • Pursuant to 16 CFR Part 255, the Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, please note: (1) iPhone software and hardware developers routinely send me free versions of their products to review. I sometimes keep and continue to use these products that I did not pay for after posting my review, which might be considered a form of compensation for my review, but I do not believe that I let that color my review. (2) When I post links to product pages on Amazon or on the iTunes App Store, my links include a referral code so that when products are purchased after clicking on the link, I sometimes receive a very small percentage of the sale. While the amount that I receive is small, it does help to defray some of the cost of running this site, and gives me a small vested interest in having readers of iPhone J.D. purchase products using these links. Again I do not believe that I let that color my review of products. If you have any questions about this, just send me an e-mail or post a comment on a specific product review.
